FAQS

What is the eligibility criteria for the Leadership Legacy Program?

Legacy is looking for undergraduate students who have demonstrated consistent and substantive contribution(s) to and leadership of the campus and its broader community and who show significant potential to lead beyond graduation. Additionally, candidates of this program should be established leaders on campus and beyond. Please note that students will have to be able to commit to, and be enrolled as full-time Storrs undergraduate students during the length of the program (January through December). If a student is taking all virtual classes for Spring 2021, they are still elgibile for the program and we will do our best to make a virtual option available if any in-person events take place.

Are regional campus students eligible for Leadership Legacy?

Participants must be full-time students at the Storrs campus during the entire program.

Are students graduating in May 2021 eligible for Leadership Legacy?

Students who will be graduating during the length of this experience are not eligible.

I nominated a student and they are saying they need a Statement of Support. Do I need to submit a Statement of Support in addition to my nomination?

No, you do not need to submit a Statement of Support as you will be answering the same questions. If a nominee would like to add a Statement of Support to their nomination, they can ask a different faculty, staff, graduate student, or undergraduate student to complete a Statement of Support. Be sure the nominee shares their nomination ID.

No, we do not accept Statements of Support via email. Please submit your Statement of Support via the Nomination Form.

I am a student interested in nominating myself. Am I able to submit a self-nomination?

Yes, students can nominate themselves. Please note that all self-nominations require at least one Statement of Support from a Faculty/Staff member. A self-nomination will not be accepted unless a Statement of Support is submitted on the students' behalf.

I was nominated by more than one person. Do I have to accept each nomination?

Students are often nominated by multiple individuals across campus. If you have been nominated by multiple people, you can choose which nomination you want to accept and our staff will turn the additional nomination(s) into a Statement of Support.
